Day 1
Gecko school went on camp on the 27th of May at Sawasdee Lagoon. When we first arrived there we all picked our tents and JJ, Max and I picked a blue tent next to Huw and Celi. After we unpacked we all went for a walk through the forest. It was quite itchy but it was fun. After the walk we had some free time. Most of the boys played football at the pitch in front of our tents and went bike riding it was really fun. When free time was finished we went swimming and kayaking in the lagoon about 150 metres away from our tents. In the water there were brown things that got stuck to your hair we only realized it didn’t come off after swimming so we had to rub ourselves with rocks and it was quite painful. Then we had lunch, I had chicken cordon bleu sandwiches which were really yummy! After lunch we had free time again. At night we did some activities like the balloon games and ‘If you love me honey, smile’.
Day 2
In the morning I woke up at 6:00 am and it was absolutely FREEZING. I forgot the rule that we are not allowed out of our tents until 7:00 am so I went to see if Eddie and Alex were awake but before I reached their tent Celi spotted me walking past her tent so she took 2 points off my team. At 8:00 am we walked down to breakfast. It was really yummy. Huw told us to go to the big sala in front of our tents. When everyone got to the sala we arranged teams. My team won the most creative name because we were called Crazy Sushi!. The other teams were Sanook Sookjai, Gecko beast and GT2 (Gecko Team 2). We did some activities in our teams. We did sports first with Huw and Andy. In the sports group we needed two teams so GT2 joined us. There was three activities, sport, cooking and kayaking. In sports we started with a football match it was 2-2. After everyone had some water we played capture the flag. The other team beat us so bad. Huw arranged different teams for a game of T-ball. We weren't in our main teams for this so it wasn’t for points. To finish off we went for a bit of a swim. A couple minutes went by and lunch got served it was so yummy but the people that ordered chicken basil forgot to say not spicy because it was super spicy and we couldn’t finish it. Alex and I rode the bikes back to the tents to get some water. Eddie, Jack.P and JJ got back from swimming and we played a football game. It was really fun especially when Andy and Jack (Siam’s dad) joined us. Celi called us in for the next activities Crazy Sushi had cooking first. We cooked chocolate balls with marshmallows inside!! It started raining as the sun began to set. It was great fun playing around with friends and kicking the football up and down the football pitch. As night fell we went to dinner and had some really yummy food. We got back to a bit of a surprise because some of the men that worked there cut up some wood for our camp fire. He was very kind and lit the fire with jell so the fire would start properly and stay a little bit longer than a usual fire but the problem was the wood was a bit wet! So anyways we cooked the marshmallows over the campfire. When we finished brushing our teeth we played a bit of truth or dare. When Celi came she told us to go to bed so we went to bed.
Day 3
This time when I woke up I remembered the rule so I didn’t lose points. At 8:00 am we went for breakfast, it was really yummy. Huw called us over to the sala for more activities. Crazy Sushi did kayaking. Alfie and I went on the same kayak. We went through a trail and found a place called tropical island (it wasn’t very tropical). 45 minutes went past already so we got a bit of free time before lunch. We played football again and it was so fun. Lunch was served and we had a kind of buffet. The minibuses arrived so we had to get going. We all went back to our tents to pack up our stuff. We got the stuff in the minibuses and got going. I listened to music on the way back and ‘rock paper scissors with Siam!=)
